It’s not often I get to run by the bay in the morning.
Good Morning, San Diego!
These two…
Loving this read…
Dinner in the Gaslamp.
Shopping at Horton Plaza.
Kids loved this urban park.
Having fun in Seaport Village.
The girls took some time to pack care packages for our soldiers through the American Red Cross.
Faith includes a little note in each bag.
More pool time with daddy.
Making new friends.
Enjoyed these views from our hotel room.
Treated the girls to a bike taxi on the last night.
Another city park.
As always, “Thanks for the memories, San Diego!”
The girls and I kept pretty busy exploring the city while daddy worked during the day. We got in lots of exercise by walking everywhere. In fact, we didn’t move our car for 3 days. It was WONDERFUL. Plus, the weather was gorgeous!
My old apartment was close by so I got to show the girls where I used to live, play, and shop. Downtown San Diego has changed quite a bit in the last 10-15 years but it’s still one of the best, cleanest, and safest downtown cities in the nation.
I love trips like these. Full of exploration and unexpected experiences.
Each day, filled with endless possibilities...
For us, this is truly one of the greatest benefits about homeschooling. No amount of time spent in a classroom can compare to learning about life through the real world.
The girls met all sorts of interesting people along the way and learned how to interact with each of them. They saw homeless sleeping on the street. They learned from artists who were passionate about their work. They met new friends who taught them how to play new games. They mingled with daddy’s business colleagues. They had an entire hotel staff smitten and they inspired others by giving their time to help the Red Cross.
And me, I got to rest a little.. maybe not my body but definitely my mind.
That’s what being close to the ocean does for you.
Such a treat to be back.
Until next time, SD…
