Polo, anyone?

29 March 2008

The Empire Polo Club.

Tack Room Tavern.

Have I mentioned how much I love the Snack Trap?

Can't leave home without our veggies.

Me and my girls.

Exploring the gardens.

Over 7,000 roses.

The girls wanted a horsie ride.
(Pretty sure we weren't supposed to do this.)

A watchful angel.

The lion and the lambs.

A cool picture with the sun in the back.

It's dinner time for the horses.

Stables.

The girls watching them eat.

We are very fortunate to live virtually across the street from the Polo Grounds. Faith and Grace get to see horses everyday as well as the occasional polo match. Morgan and I also enjoy the feeling of living in a remote or rural area, even though everything we need is just a couple of miles away. Our neighbors have told us that the Tack Room Tavern is a casual, fun, and affordable place to eat. This is the little restaurant that's part of the polo grounds. They also told us that the Rose Garden and the grounds itself are amazing and that the kids would also enjoy it. Last night, we decided to make the very short drive over there. Our neighbors were right! Wow, was it magnificent! We had no idea that we lived so close to all of this! After dinner, we walked the expansive gardens, smelled the flowers, and got to see the horses up close. We also hear that they give pony rides but I think the girls are still a bit too young. We will definitely be back to do some more exploring! The best part is that you don't have to eat there to enjoy the beautiful grounds. There aren't too many free things to do anymore so this was great! It seemed like we were the only ones out so we were running around and having fun. Can't believe it's taken us over a year to actually go across the street.
