Vegas Vacation Part 2

06 May 2011

Paris Hotel.

One of my favorite hotels- Bellagio.

Beautiful glass flowers on the ceiling of the lobby.

They also had a Butterfly Garden Exhibit.

And a whimsical carousel.

Outside Caesar's Palace.

Eiffel Tower at night.

Spectacular!

The girls really enjoyed the water fountain show.

Field Trip to Hoover Dam.

Daddy & Faith.

Daddy & Grace.

Amazing construction.

The dam provides water to 5 western states. See how low the water level is?

Our girlies.

More fun in the pool.

Enjoying the gondoliers at the Venetian.

Yummy Gelato!

Putting on their own show.

Relaxing at St. Mark's Square.

Beautiful murals on the ceiling.

Lastly, we ended our trip by searching for one more letterbox on the drive home.
This one was off ZZYZX Road.

The clues led us to a pile of rocks under a remote bush.

We found it!

Other hunters/visitors logging in.

The stamp we found at ZZYZX.

Good job, girls!

Amazingly, with all we did, I came home feeling relaxed and somewhat rested. In hindsight, would we do Vegas again? Morgan and I both agreed the answer is NO. Vegas, through the eyes of a 5 year-old is quite sobering. The town has changed quite a bit over the years and in our opinion, not for the better. First off, everything was insanely expensive! We all know Vegas is not exactly a kid-friendly town and even though we tried to shield them from the vices of Vegas, it was almost impossible to avoid.

What we did enjoy was the uninterrupted time we got to spend together as a family. I tend to view everything in life as a learning experience so I'm grateful for the conversations and opportunities we had to engage the girls and experience new things together.

In that regard, I'd like to think we came back WINNERS! :)
