North Carolina

08 September 2020

We got up at 4:00 AM for our 7:15 flight out of Ontario. #maskedup #adventuretogether

He loves flying.

Somehow, he always manages to get into the cockpit. 😂

We landed in Charlotte and headed north to this quaint and historic little town of Davidson.

The butterflies there were HUGE and so beautiful!
We have to pay to see these kinds of butterflies at our zoo. 😄

Isn't this stained glass darling?
We were hungry so we stopped at the Pickled Peach for dinner. This was a highly recommended spot on my GF app and it did not disappoint. Delish!

The next day, we met up with our realtor, Bruce and he showed us all around the community of Mooresville. He even took us out on Lake Norman for a ride on his boat.

What a treat!

Kids loved it!

It was so lovely to be outside, enjoying the lake!

We were waiting outside for dinner one night and it started to pour down rain for only a minute or so.
Then we saw this rainbow. We were obviously tourists because no one else was even phased at the downpour. I guess it happens all the time. That's why things are so pretty and green! 😂

North Carolina is the NASCAR capital so of course, Morgan had to take the kids go-karting.

Too bad Zach's not having any fun at all. 😁

Just two kids with a need for speed.

Look what we found in the mall? A Lionel train store! Zach was in heaven and he could've spent the whole day there looking at the trains.

Eating Shrimp & Grits was on our bucket list and let me tell you, it was our FAVORITE meal. Yum!!

We took a drive to Lake Norman State Park.

 It was gorgeous.

Leaves as big as my face.

We only stayed for 3 days in the Mooresville and Charlotte area of NC but during that time, we visited our neighbors who just moved there, met with a realtor, toured some homes, went out on Lake Norman, did some fun activities, and got a feel for the general community. We aren't ready to move just yet but we are definitely praying about it. Morgan walked into a home he would've liked to purchase ON THE SPOT, which surprised me because he's usually not that impulsive. 😂 We absolutely loved the conservative, small town feel we got around the Mooresville area. The people were friendly, there was lots to do, everything was open, and the beauty of NC blew us away. It's definitely worth another longer visit for sure. And the humidity? It's something we were concerned about but honestly, it wasn't that bad. Here at home, we can't even go outside because it's 115 degrees. But there, it was in the 80's and you could still go outside and do things. Plus, in the evenings, it cooled down.

Before heading to South Carolina, we visited the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.
What an amazing place!
That's up next!
