Resurrection Rolls
07 April 2012
Flatten a biscuit with your fingers.
Place a large marshmallow in the center.
Pinch the biscuit dough closed.
Place pinched side down on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Glisten the tops with some melted butter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Don’t skimp!
Stop to smile for the camera.
Then lick your fingers.
You think that’s enough sugar??
Wait patiently and watch the rolls (tombs) rise.
EMPTY!!
The kids loved making these all by themselves! These will definitely become an Easter tradition in our home.
The biscuit represents the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in after he was crucified. The marshmallow represents Jesus- pure, white and sinless. The cinnamon sugar mixture represents the spices that were used to anoint His body. After baking the rolls, open them to discover that Jesus is no longer there. HE IS RISEN!
You could also dip the marshmallow in butter and sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar before wrapping the dough if you’d like. We forgot that part.
Resurrection (or Empty Tomb) Rolls:
1 roll of canned buttermilk biscuits. We used reduced fat but any would do, even crescent rolls.
8 large marshmallows
cinnamon sugar mixture
melted butter
wait 30 minutes and allow the dough to rise.
follow the directions on the package for baking.
Enjoy immediately!

Those are so cute! And way better than the recipe I have for a similar idea. Must steal for next year. Super cute. And the hike looked amazing. . . what a wonderful morning!
What I great idea! I've never seen or heard of these rolls, before, but what a wonderful metaphor! Hope you had a wonderful Easter! :)
