Through our church’s Local Impact program, we spent the morning volunteering at Jordan Outreach Ministries.
Our job was to pack food bags in the distribution warehouse.
We needed to fill 2 large bins as well as these shelves with as many food bags as they could hold.
The girls were such a BIG help!
Even though it was over 100 degrees and the sweat was dripping off us, the girls never complained.
They cheerfully worked for 3 hours. So proud of them!
Helping to feed the hungry around our community.
The girls said they had FUN serving. In fact, they thought we should do it more often. Agreed!
I enjoyed watching them take initiative, put forth their best effort, and help out wherever needed.
Teaching our children gratefulness, as well as the value of hard work- while joyfully serving the least of these...
I can’t think of a better way to spend our time together as a family!
“Our life of poverty is as necessary as the work itself. Only in heaven
will we see how much we owe to the poor for helping us to love
God better because of them.”
~Mother Teresa
Love that you all did this as a family. truly a local impact!
