It’s Friday and other than the pool, we’ve been pretty house bound all week. I decided it was time to take a little day trip! Unfortunately, it was a work day for daddy so he couldn’t join us girls but we still had a great time! We made the hour long drive up to Riley’s Farm for some U-pick berries and a picnic in the park. Hello~ 80 degree weather!
It was slim pickins’. The berries are not quite ripe yet.
It may be another week for the blackberries, too.
ah, pretty signs of farm life.
Picnic time…
Oak Glen Park.
I think our next house must include a tire swing!
{LOVE} this picture!
Always up for meeting new friends!
The 1927 School House.
Just Beautiful.
What a lovely day with my beauties!
Not counting gas, I only spent $5 ($2.50/half pint of berries) on this day trip.
Oh, and on the way home, we saw a “Yard Sale” sign so we had to stop.
I got 7 volumes of these beautiful vintage Woman’s Day Encyclopedia of Cookery books!
Apparently, the books are a cross between a cooking dictionary and an encyclopedia.
First of all, I love old cookbooks. After I get through browsing them, they’ll make a great side table display.
Notice the 5th book down… it says Korean Cookery!
Should be interesting!
So what did I pay for 7 volumes of 1960’s cooking memorabilia?

$1.
That’s quite a deal, if I don’t say so myself!
Happy Weekend, Y’all!
Did I just say, Y’all?
I Love it! Nice frugal day trip girl! And the cookbooks. . . oh my . . . love you. . . can't wait to look at the books! I love that you were able to just stop and look at the garage sale - I can't wait for moments like those when my kiddo's are a bit bigger!
