Korean Princesses

01 October 2010

It's hard to tell from this picture but their hanbok's are actually about 3 to 4 inches off the ground. The girls found these hanging in their closet the other day and they've been wearing them as part of their daily dress-up routine. This particular look is called the "Korean Princess." These hanbok's were given to us by the girls' foster parents to wear for their one year birthday party (Dol). The dresses were really big then but too small now. In fact, they can't even squeeze into the vest portion that goes on top anymore, but that's okay.
The long apron dress is the fun part for them anyway. Yes, these dresses are beautifully detailed and made out of silk. I don't allow them to wear it for meals but otherwise, they can wear them whenever they want. Rather than hanging in a closet collecting dust, they are worth far more in smiles, sentiment, and the joy it brings to two little hearts.
