Butterfly Exhibit

03 November 2008

At the Living Desert.

I managed to get one picture of a hummingbird. They moved too fast!

Sunshine with wings.

A small spotted butterfly landed on my finger.

Daddy gets one, too.

Faith wanted to hold it but as you can see, Grace is a bit relunctant.

My favorite picture of the day.

She's happy and proud to be holding her butterfly.

Our two butterflies.

Can you see all the cocoons hanging?

Of course, we had to feed the giraffes.

Looking more like big girls everyday.

Brushing the goats.

Me and my girls.

Cheese!

The weather has finally cooled down to the mid 80's (yes, I know it's November) so it was the perfect opportunity to get out and enjoy our local zoo. We went to the Living Desert this weekend to check out the butterfly exhibit. We enjoyed seeing all the different species of butterflies and Faith even had several of them land on her finger. She is our fearless child so unlike Grace, she enjoyed that experience very much. Grace, at first, is a little leery of new experiences, especially ones that involve animals (or bugs) so she was content to just watch from the side. I'd say we did pretty well in the exhibit considering no butterflies were stepped on during our time there. And of course, no zoo visit is complete without feeding the giraffes and petting the goats. It was a nice morning.
