Seaport Village & USS Midway

Mommy got to be a kid again.

The girls wanted to stop and pet every dog.

Checking out the map at Seaport Village.

The Star of India.

Grace enjoys eating dad's clam chowder.

The USS Midway.

Just awesome.

A tribute to "The Greatest Generation."
Notice the little kid by the woman's foot. It was breath-taking.

A tribute to Bob Hope and all he did to support the troops.

We also ventured over the Bay Bridge into downtown San Diego. We stopped to walk around Seaport Village where the girls went on their first carousel ride. In hindsight, we should have picked the horses that didn't move up and down. They were both a little scared to ride all by themselves, even though we were right there beside them.

We also went to the harbor where we enjoyed dinner at Anthony's Seafood Grotto. Years ago, I used to go there often when I lived practically across the street in the Gaslamp Quarter. The USS Midway was nearby and a sight to behold. The pictures don't do it justice but it was massive and quite inspiring with the sun setting in the background. You couldn't help but feel a sense of patriotism and great pride in our country.
