We met our daughters!

01 March 2007

They are even more beautiful in person! We started the morning somewhat anxious but also very excited. My stomach was in knots all morning. Before we left to meet our social worker, we recorded a special message to our girls on video. We wanted them to someday look back on this day and know how blessed we felt to be their parents and how much love we felt for them already. I could barely get through the video so Morgan did most of the talking :)

It was cold and rainy all day today but no rain, sleet or snow could have kept us from seeing those two precious faces. The second we saw them, all of our anxiousness disappeared. They had a playful and loving spirit about them and in no time, they took to us easily.

It was a pleasure meeting the foster parents in their home. We could see that our girls were deeply loved by each member of their extended family, including their grandchildren. We only visited for a little over an hour but during that time, we got to feed them, play with them and learn more about their habits and schedule. Monday, the foster parents will come here and they will officially give us the girls. They have already given us bags full of their favorite things as well as gifts to take back with us. The girls will stay with us in our 2 bedroom guest house until we leave for home on Tuesday evening. We are so in love and can't wait to see them again on Monday! Enjoy the pictures!

Thank you for posting the pictures and for sharing such a special time. I will keep praying as I'm sure it will also be hard work and emotionally draining at times. BUT so worth it.
