We just returned from the annual CHEA convention and man, are we fired up!
This was the first year we took the girls with us and they really enjoyed the Children’s Convention. It was also the first time they participated in an all day event without me. They did great! In fact, they had so much fun, they’re already looking forward to next year’s convention!
Although thousands of people from SoCal were there, we were surprised to find out that only 5% of Christian Homeschoolers actually go to the CHEA conventions each year. In our opinion, this is the best place to come with your family and gain wisdom, insight, and refreshing biblical encouragement. Not to mention the sense of community and fellowship with like-minded families. Priceless!
The Keynote Speakers are always phenomenal. We had the great privilege of getting to know Doug Phillips, President of Vision Forum Ministries. Vision Forum has been a leading resource and ministry tool for us as a family. We are so thankful for Doug and his team, leading the charge.
Here we are with Doug and 3 of his 8 precious children.
Starting the day with Mickey pancakes.
We LOVED our fellowship time with our good friends, the Whites!
Fun with balloons at lunch.
Hello, from the Disneyland Hotel!
Legos galore.
Dinner at Downtown Disney.
Fireworks from our hotel.
This was our second year attending CHEA and as a family, we have made it a priority to go each year. We will continue to budget for it because we value it as a worthy investment. I love that we come away with our hearts focused on the bigger picture. We leave encouraged, not only for matters in education but for a greater kind of learning. The kind that happens when we choose God first in everything and we trust Him with every aspect of not only our homeschooling, but most importantly, in life.
A truly inspirational couple of days… So grateful for the opportunity to go and share it together, as a family.
Until next year, CHEA!
