The Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg stretches over 301 acres, and includes 88 original 18th-century structures.  Costumed interpreters undertake years of study to rein act the period in first person every day.  The girls enjoyed seeing the different skilled tradesmen and merchants and asked lots of good questions throughout the day.  What a unique look into American history.

We all learned so much this week!   A truly historical trip with some great memories.

Did You Know?

George Washington never wore a wig.  That was his real hair.  Wigs were for the rich and they powdered them in the evenings so they could be seen more clearly in the dark.  Hence, the “Powder Room.”
