They were playing "Mommy & Daddy." Faith was mommy & Teagan was daddy. Viv & Grace were the kids. Teagan was a natural at being a gentlemen (notice his arm around Faith). Faith even started calling him "babe."
It's hard to believe that we have 7 more weeks to go before we wrap up preschool. A couple of weeks ago at our family barbecue, we had some great discussion about the future of our co-op. We all decided that we would like to continue with the co-op for Pre-K next year. However, we did make some changes to our schedule and then decided to implement them right away, instead of waiting until the next school year. Rather then meeting twice a week for 2 hours, we decided to make it once a week for a longer period of time. We are having school on Tuesdays now from 8:30-noon. We all agreed that having more time for each lesson would be nice- especially since the kids' attention span has improved since we began last fall. Extra time will also allow for playtime/recess, as well as lunch. The new, once a week schedule also gives us moms the opportunity to spend more time working with our own children at home. Plus, now that the kids are getting older, that extra day gives them the chance to participate in various activities like dance, karate, swim, soccer, whatever.

Week 23 of school- Bible lesson was about Samuel and how God called him in his sleep. The kids got to take turns being Samuel and Eli, the prophet. On the 3rd time Samuel was called, they woke up and said, "Here I am, Lord. I am listening."
Letter of the week-W. We learned about whales, worms, weather and wind.
As it turned out, it was windy day so it was perfect.

We've now completed week 2 of the new schedule and I must say I'm loving it! The kids are benefiting greatly as well. I saw some marked improvement in their retention, comprehension, penmanship, and skill. The extra time allows me to feel less rushed as a teacher and because of that, the kids are more grounded as well. They are enjoying the added playtime, story time, and of course, eating lunch together is always fun. Our co-op will continue to do our monthly field trips/service projects as well as our family get-togethers throughout the year. We may also start Pre-K a bit early in August so that we can take the whole month of December off.
Our co-op has been such a blessing to us in so many ways. We are continuing to evolve, learn, and adapt, both as teachers and as students. When I think of all that the kids have learned and experienced in their 3's, I am so grateful for Shannon and Hailey to come alongside me in this calling. God couldn't have led us to two better families. Our first school year will soon be over before we know it! Here's to closing out the year strong!
glad to see that teagan was being a good 'daddy'. i may be in trouble in a few years if he continues to be such a ladies man! haha great pictures!
What fabluous pictures - what a great day. Vivien is still talking about it.
