Maui Part 2

19 March 2019

We scouted out Airport Beach because we heard the snorkeling was great there.
Of course, Zach's favorite part was watching all of the airplanes take off and land.

It was pretty but we ended up staying for just a short time because it was windy and cold on this part of the island. Here, the girls are braving the cold and looking for treasures.

We headed to Wailea and found the sun at Big Beach.

 Happy as a clam.

The sand in Hawaii is so soft and perfect for making sand castles!

 Big Beach from up high.

Crystal clear and blue.

If you take this path over, it's called Little Beach a.k.a. a nude beach.
Needless to say, we stayed on the clothed side. 😂

Apparently, Zach had more important things to look at than the camera. 😄

This was the view we had from our condo. A photo never does a sunset justice, does it?

The next day, we explored Lahaina. The kids are in front of the Old Banyan Tree.
It was planted in 1873 to mark the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the first American Protestant Mission.
It stands 60 feet tall today.

Zach enjoyed the local musicians.

We had a delicious lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate.

The traditional dish is called Loco Moco. Yumm!!!

And the popular local Hawaiian snack, Spam Musubi. We inhaled it, it was so good!

Our first taste of Natural Flavored Hawaiian Shaved Ice. OH, MY!!! Amazingness.

Let the whale watching trip begin!

We followed a mama and her calf.

The humpbacks came so close to our boat!

 Such a cool experience!

Our first whale watching trip was a success. We saw lots of whales!

 Zach loved it!

Before heading back, we had to make a stop at the World Famous Ululani's Shaved Iced for round 2.
