Life Lately

24 March 2021

Well, March has shaped up to be the best month so far. After the January and February we had, March has been a breath of fresh air! Thank you, Lord!

The boys like to go for an afternoon ride and explore around our neighborhood.

I'm so proud of this cutie. She'd be the first to tell you she's always been a little too attached to her long hair. After experiencing #covidhair 😪 she made the decision to cut it.

She chopped it off and now it's SO healthy!
Plus, she looks stunning and so grown.😳

Here she is, headed to youth group.

This is Taleah and she's been Zach's buddy at church. She's studying to be a Behavioral Health Therapist.
We absolutely LOVE the Embrace Me Special Needs Ministry at our church. What a blessing!

Uncle Ben came to visit for a couple of days and we had fun playing games together, especially Sequence.

One night, he and Morgan took the girls to The Labyrinth. It's like an escape room/ninja course.

They made a Sonic run afterwards.

The next night, the guys took all the kids to the AT&T Stadium in Arlington for Supercross.

It was Zach's first time and those noise cancelling headphones helped a ton!

He had a blast and was livin' his best life in between his two favorite people.

Making fun memories together.

Spring has definitely sprung around here and we love seeing all the green everywhere!

We spent a few hours playing at Unity Park yesterday. What an amazing park it is!

Well, that's a little look into life around here lately. We are loving this warmer weather. This weekend, we may even hit 80! All the trees and flowers are blooming and we're spending more time outside.
When you actually experience the different seasons, there's something to be said for the start of a new one. Yay, spring! We're so happy to see you.

Happy Adoption Day, Faith & Grace!

10 March 2021

Our celebration started on Friday night when we took the girls to the Toby Mac concert in Allen.
We got a babysitter for Zach and spent a special evening with our teenagers.

Not the best picture but we wanted to capture the 4 of us that night.

We Are Messengers was the surprise for me. They were awesome!

Tauren Wells was a favorite for all of us.

Another shot of me and my girls.

And Toby Mac NEVER disappoints.
His tribute to his late son was beautiful. 😢

We had great (socially-distanced) seats and Faith was gettin' her groove on. 😁

Such a fun night!

Then the next day, the girls wanted to have dinner at Marty B's.
Here's the parking lot. We're definitely in Texas, y'all!🤠

While we waited for our table, the boys roped some cattle.

Cutie pies.

We tore up that brisket queso. Yes, please!

The other side of the table. 😊

Happy Adoption Day, sweet girls!

Adopting you has been one of the GREATEST BLESSINGS in our lives.
What an honor it is to be your parents.

I can't believe it's been 14 years since we brought you home from Korea.
You two are such a light in this world and a joy to all those who know you.

We love you so much, Faith & Grace!

Girls Date Night Social

01 March 2021

Last week, the girls and their youth group met at an Italian Restaurant to have a "date night" with the boys of "Man Up," the 9th grade boys group at our church. At first, when I heard about the event, I thought,
"They're going to teach these kids how to date in 9th grade? What in the world?" Well, it turns out, it's an annual evening of etiquette training for the young men. Almost like a right of passage. The more I thought about it, you can never start too early when you're training young people how to treat a young lady and how to be one.

Looking beautiful as ever.💕

Practicing, just in case any boys act out of line. 😆

I'm so happy they're making new friendships and having fun.
There was lots of excitement and nervous giggles.

But apparently, the boys were even more nervous than the girls!
They sat as a group but across from their "date." They changed dates 3 times during the 3 course meal (salad, entree, and dessert). The boys had to practice basic manners like pulling out chairs for the girls, making conversation, and even complimenting them and thanking them for the evening.

The kids had a blast and it was a great experience for them all.
Don't worry, I wasn't stalking the girls, nor did I snap these photos. Even though we joked that Morgan, Zach and I would eat dinner at the same restaurant just so we could spy on them.😭
These photos were sent to me by the girls' group leader the next day.

Can't believe they're almost 15!!

At the end of the evening, they filled us in on everything and concluded, nobody compared to their daddy! #sosweet #goodjobdaddy
