For a couple of weeks now, the weather has been so nice, I've really REALLY wanted to go to the beach but with all the restrictions we've been hearing about on CA beaches, we just weren't sure if it would be worth the 2 hour drive.
Silly me. Forgetting that the beach is ALWAYS worth the drive.
There's just something about the salt water, waves, and vast ocean that feel so freeing and healing.
Toes in the sand and feeling grand!
Couldn't keep Zach out of the water. Probably because the ocean temp was warmer than expected.
He was having a fantastic time.
The girls had fun beachcombing and enjoyed Chinese take out??
No, these were actually Acai Bowls from the beach cafe and they put them in these cute take out containers.
I have a friend who travels a lot with her family and she told me last week that she had been to Oceanside Beach where social restrictions were very minimal. So, we decided to pack up the new car and give it a shot. And I'm so glad we did!
We parked on the street (which was free and not a problem at all). We got to sit on the beach and no one said a word. Not even the police who drove by several times. The Buccaneer Beach Cafe was open for take out as well as their bathrooms for public use.
Everyone kept their social distance and no masks were required.
You can't tell from these pictures but by afternoon, there were lots of people out and about.
It almost felt like a normal So. Cal day and let's be honest, we could all use a dose of normal right about now.
Of course, things could change here in CA day by day but if you're wondering, I guess Ventura Co. beaches are the least restricted, followed by San Diego Co., then LA Co. being the most restricted.
Go find your happy place! 🌞🌊
