We chanced going to an amusement park on a holiday. Yup, we’re risky like that…
We left our house by 7 AM and we got there when the doors opened at 9.
First stop- Sea Life Aquarium!
We followed the Fin Facts tour and answered all 10 questions about the various sea animals.
After learning lots of interesting facts, we finished by 10:30.
Next stop- next door to LEGOLAND! Doors opened at 10 AM so we were still OK.
My favorite picture of the day!
What a fabulous day! The longest we waited for any ride was about 25 mins. The crowds were minimal. I guess maybe the threat of rain kept them away. We got to ride on every ride we wanted to- including all the roller coasters, which were the girls’ favorites! It rained for a few minutes around noon but that was it! We enjoyed cloudy skies with cooler temps (low 70’s).
I wasn’t sure how long we’d last (esp. since we’d all been up so early), but we ended up closing down the park!
We stayed ‘til 5 PM and the girls did FANTASTIC!
After stopping in Temecula to relax and have dinner, we headed home over the mountains.
We were treated to some beautiful rainbows as the sun began to set.
The sky was magnificent!
Impending rain was a comin’. Just breathtaking!
We made it home, just in time for the downpour, thunder, and lightning… And bedtime.
So, why would we even chance going to an amusement park on a holiday??
That doesn’t sound like something us logical and practical people would do?
It’s because the good folks at Legoland offers homeschooling families a HUGE discount on Mondays ‘til the end of the year. And since daddy usually goes into LA for work on Mondays, we decided to go for it- on Labor Day.
For both Sea Life & Legoland:
Regular Full Price- $304 (2 adults + 2 kids) Yikes!
Homeschool Price- $88 (for all 4 of us) Now that’s more like it!
What a trip! Well worth it, in all respects!
Nice! Looks like a fun time and I LOVE the sunset pictures. I don't know that I've ever seen that in SoCAl.
