Our busy but fun week just kept getting better. On Friday morning, the girls and I met up with some friends at the zoo. Faith and Grace had a great time and so did I. We avoided the zoo all summer long but friday was a gorgeous day. I don't think it ever got above 80 degrees the whole time we were there. This is the first time that I've ever taken the girls on my own and they did wonderfully. The little safari jeep is fun because it makes it easy for them to get in and out whenever they want to see something. The highlights that morning were feeding the giraffes and brushing the goats. The first time they fed the giraffes months ago, they got scared when they got up close but this time, they placed the food right on their slimy, long, black tongue. They liked it so much that they stood in line to do it again. The petting area is always a big hit. They even got to brush the goat's fur. They also recognized the size difference in the giraffes and quickly named them mommy, daddy and baby. Faith told me that she gave daddy and mommy giraffe some food. Grace said that she combed the goat. There was even a slight breeze so it made walking and strolling quite pleasant. Morgan was jealous that he couldn't come with us so we are looking forward to going back soon to see the hummingbird and butterfly exhibit. Thanks, Danielle and Rhonda for inviting us!
The drums in the African Village are always fun, too!
We had so much fun, it was a great way to spend the day with all of you!
