Road Trip
15 August 2008
We're home! We ended up staying on the road an extra day. While we were in Bakersfield, Morgan learned that he had another client appointment in Del Mar on Thursday. The original plan was to come home late Wednesday night but instead, the whole family went to Del Mar together. Hello? Del Mar? How could we pass that up?! The girls were doing wonderfully and having a blast so we drove from Bakersfield to Del Mar on Wednesday evening and stayed in a hotel. He ended his work day yesterday with lunch at Jake's on the beach with a colleague. It just so happens that when we go to the beach there, we usually sit right in front of Jake's. Morgan was able to have his business lunch and watch us play for an hour before he came out to join us for the rest of the afternoon. So fun! We logged over 1100 miles on the minivan so it's now definitely time for our first oil change. I took some great pictures but instead of posting them all together, I think I'll separate them by location. This was a last minute road trip but it turns out that it was great practice for our vacation in a couple of weeks. Although we didn't get to see Morgan until he got home in the evenings, it was still nice to be able to have dinner with him every night and be together in the evenings. The trip couldn't have gone any better and we thank God for protecting us, giving us the opportunity to be together, and letting us enjoy one another's company. The girls loved the adventure and we loved seeing them experience new things and grow up right before our eyes. I will post some pictures shortly!
