Mom's Week in Texas

My mom was able to visit us the week before Easter. 

I was so proud of her for getting on a plane all by herself. 

She probably hasn't been on a plane in over 20 years!  

After church, we visited the actual "Flower Mound" in Flower Mound. 

Since it was Holy Week, they had three crosses displayed on the mound. 

 

How special is this? Love our community!

During the week, we also made a visit to our nearest Korean Market, which is in Lewisville, about 20 minutes away. We stocked up on some yummy Korean food and feasted one night. 

Springtime here in North Texas has been my favorite so far. I'm blown away by all the vibrant green everywhere. Mom was taking in all the beauty and relaxing in a friend's backyard. 

She also brought us girls some face masks so we had fun doing a home spa treatment one day.

On Good Friday, we took mom to Grimaldi's for her last night before she headed home. 

We were starved! 

Mom was here for a whole week and although we didn't do anything special, the time sure flew by. 

We're so grateful she's feeling much better these days and was able to come for a visit. 

And what a bonus: She LOVED Texas and will soon come again!

Girls Turn 15!

Last month, we celebrated these two turning 15. 

Opening presents from family members. 

Here in Texas, you can get your permit at 15 so we signed them up for Driver's Ed! 

Had a fun afternoon at Airborne Trampoline Park. 

Tested their Ninja Skills. 

And finished the day by having a scrumptious dinner at Grimaldi's. 

Yes, this!!

When I grow up, I want to be like Faith and Grace. They are the kindest and most thoughtful people I know. 

I know the teenage years can be difficult, resulting in strained relationships with parents and lots of frustration (ask me how I know🙈) but I have to say, the teenage years (so far) with my girls have been my favorite. 

Watching them blossom into their own unique personalities and seeing how they navigate the world from the foundation we've tried to teach them has been our greatest joy. 

I have failed so many times as a parent and yet the Lord's graciousness and goodness are seen through my children. 😭
