We have been away from home since Saturday morning. We left for a 5 day road trip with stops in Cerritos, Newport Beach, Pasadena, Bakersfield, and Fresno. Yup, we're rackin' up lots of miles on the minivan! Since Morgan would have been gone for the better part of this week on business, the girls and I decided to tag along and make it an adventure. We just couldn't see spending all that time away from him. Some highlights include my high school reunion, a day at Newport Dunes with siblings and cousins, and spending time together at the Bakersfield Resort (that's what we affectionately call Morgan's brother's house). The girls are doing GREAT and having fun! We'll be back later in the week sometime and I'll post some pictures then. Have a great week!On the road...

Something remarkably sweet happened today.I was helping Faith out of her car seat when we came home from swim lessons. She then asked me for a hug, (which she often does by saying the word "hug" with her arms open). As I picked her up to give her a squeeze, she gave me a big bear hug- the kind where her arms and legs wrapped all around me. Then, out of the blue, she said, "I love you, Mommy." Sure, she has said it many times before but never has it been initiated on her own, without someone saying it to her first. It was the sweetest, most genuine, and pure sound to my ears. What a privilege and blessing it is to be loved by your children.
