We headed up to Idyllwild to hike one of our favorite trails.
The smell of pine trees and fresh air was so lovely.
The stream was really flowing.
All my favorite people on one old tree.
Daddy's shadow.
My hiking buddy.
My best girls.
Faith is always the adventurer, taking the road less traveled.
And I'm just trying to get to the other side without falling and breaking something.
Zach, the kid who likes to live on the edge needed to touch the bubbles.
We packed a lunch but weren't sure where we could stop to eat.
We saw that the Idyllwild Ice Cream & Jerky Shop was open so Morgan asked the owner if we could sit outside on their picnic table. He was very kind to let us do so.
After lunch, we had to try the homemade ice cream, which was so delicious!
Happy boy!
What a wonderful day it was! First of all, it was about 30 degrees cooler up there and being outside, hiking in nature just makes me so happy. We noticed that many of the shops in this little mountain town were open.
In fact, while we were sitting there having our lunch, about 15 other people came by to enjoy some ice cream, sit at the picnic tables and just enjoy a nice day outside. Everyone was so friendly, chatty, and just happy to be out! Hardly anyone was wearing a mask either.
It was practically a normal day and that made it all the more special because that means hope is on the rise here in CA. On the way home, Morgan said, "I didn't even mind that I just spent $25 on 5 scoops of ice cream." 😂
Fun day with my crew!
