On Saturday, our boy turned 5 and we started the morning by paying a visit to
"see" Grandma and Grandpa.
Then we headed to the beach to set up for his birthday bash.
Even his sad face is adorable.
Three dads pointing out some dolphins to their sons.
The kids were working on a huge sand pit.
The fun party favors we made packed with goldfish, gummy sharks and Swedish fish.
Lunch is served!
We've been doing this for a few years now and it always makes things so EASY to have pizza delivered right to the beach!
The birthday boy requested Miss Jill's chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. She made us two big cakes to share with the crowd. Yum!!
Can't believe our boy is FIVE!!
What an awesome day!
Happy birthday, buddy!
I'm pretty sure there was some sand in that piece of cake!
These two. 💕
They were having a blast playing in the water.
What a fun celebration we had for our big boy!
I asked Zach what he'd like to do for his birthday and once again, he chose the beach. Fine by me!
This time, we noticed he went straight for the ocean and started playing in the waves.
In years past, he'd always hang back and play more in the sand.
Maybe it's because he's swimming like a fish now and practically in the water everyday.
Or maybe it's just because he's growing up and getting used to things.
Four was a great year for Zach. He learned so much and we saw some great growth in our boy.
I can't wait to see what year 5 will bring!
Little did we know what we were in for when we said yes to a tiny 3 pound baby boy 5 years ago.
We've had our ups and downs and there have certainly been some challenges along the way but my goodness, the Lord has blessed us through this kid.
He's one in a million and we have the joy and privilege of being his family.
We couldn't love him any more than we do.
Happy 5th Birthday, Zachary!
May the Lord always keep you and guide you.
XOXO
