Life Lately

29 March 2018

Well, these few and far between posts are becoming a habit, aren't they?
Only 3 posts so far in the month of March?!

That's unheard of in my 12 years of blogging. But you know what? I'm OK with it.

Such is the season of my life right now.

We're finally into Spring and that means Summer is just around the corner!

This picture just makes me happy. My #1 & #3.

A windy day makes for great kite flying!

See the happy little boy flying his kite?

Faith got to go on a quick weekend trip with daddy to see Uncle Ben's race.
She's tall enough now to ride the big ATV and trek through the desert 10 miles
while following daddy on his dirt bike!

Boys will be boys. 😍

She had so much fun and loved her time with two of her favorite men.

Meanwhile.... This was at 10AM, when he dozed off on the way to the library.
(That's because he'd been up partying in his room since 5AM!)

He got a second wind after a short nap.

My boy crush. 💘

 Sundays are for sibling photos.

Can we all just say, "GLORY!" for daylight savings?!

His outdoor playtime just got extended and he's pretty happy about that.

Note to self: Check inside the oven before preheating and walking to the park.
The mischievous toddler may have stashed some things in there like a box of cereal, a jar of peanut butter, that loaf of bread that's been missing, and a variety of other items. 😱
Came back to a smoke filled house! #ohlawd #toddlerlife

I love games that are educational. Found a matching game that teaches lower case letters. #boom

Morgan usually takes Zach to the skate park on Monday nights while I take the girls to Speech & Debate. On this particular Monday, we were off from Speech & Debate so the whole family went to the skate park to watch Zach do his thing.

You snooze, you lose. 😄

"Mama, can you see me?" 😂

Park dates with mama.

 My baby's growing up. 😍

"Let him sleep for when he wakes, he shall..."

 Rule the Galaxy!

Helping daddy with his newest project.

A built-in sandpit for his excavating lovin' little boy.
Zach loves it and plays in it everyday. #superdad

Zach cannot get enough of Arnold Lobel's books. He has them all memorized!

Swollen bottom lip from an ant bite at the park. He just can't leave the ants alone. #sigh #boys

Ministry update: We had our second meeting a few weeks ago and again, Morgan and I were amazing by the turn out. We had quite a few people who volunteered to help with Safe Families as well as 4 new families who wanted to pursue adoption! We now have a total of SIX families from our church who are going through the adoption process. Wow, right?!! #godissogood

Loved this quote by Bob Goff.
We all think we want safe and comfortable but looking back on my life, if God hadn't given me the courage to take risks, I wouldn't be able to fulfill His purpose for me. #bebravewithyourlife #havecourage #getoutoftheboat

I saw this quote soon after I had surgery. Oh, yeah, I had surgery 2 weeks ago! I spent the night in the hospital and came home to two days of pain and suffering. I'm fine now and feeling good. The surgery was on the schedule for a while and at some point, I may share about it but the point is,
God doesn't waste any suffering. #sufferwell

The storms of life will come but Christ is our hope and anchor.

In our social media saturated world, it's so easy to display our moments of awesomeness.
Let's value wisdom over flash.

I had a sweet convo with Faith the other day and this quote pretty much summed up what we were talking about. Friends, we need to be brave with our lives so that our children can be brave with theirs, too. #preachingtomyself #braveparenting #bravekids

Up next!

We celebrated two very special birthdays last week!

Happy Adoption Day!

12 March 2018

Eleven years ago, we were in Korea meeting our girls for the first time!

Many months later, we made it "official" by having our day in court.

Oh my goodness! Can they be any cuter??

They were the sweetest babies with such personality!

Celebrating another adoption day!

The cutest little things ever!

I mean, seriously?!! Can I just have one more day with these two toddlers?

Korean Princesses.

Love them to pieces!

 The best big sisters!

 Growing up!

Ok, now please excuse me while I go cry my eyes out. 😭

Every year, I get sentimental when I post about adoption day but this year, I'm a ball of emotions.
Maybe it's because there's no denying how fast the girls have grown up, especially in these last couple of years. When I look back at these photos, I wonder, "Where has the time gone?"

I honestly wish they could be little again. Even for just one day. Having a toddler now, makes me realize just how precious time is. Time is a gift. It gives us perspective and I will never regret spending as much time with my kids as I have. Thank you, Lord!
It's really true what they say, "The days may seem long but the years are short."

The girls are turning TWELVE in just 10 short days.
Before you know it, we'll have two teenagers in the house!

In our family, we celebrate adoption day (the day we brought the girls home from Korea) by doing something fun as a family. This year, the girls chose...

Ice Skating!!

Our little first time skater. What kind of face is he making?

Walking around in those skates was no problem for this kid.

It was the ice, where he had some problems. 😄 #iceangels.

All of a sudden, his legs were like noodles.

He liked playing on the ice.

Jello legs.

💖💖💖

This was daddy most of the time.

Me and my girls.

A family who survives ice skating together, stays together.

He looks much cuter in my beanie than I do. 😍

We celebrated afterwards with a big hot bowl of Pho noodles. #girlschoice

Someone likes to play with his food.

Then back home for some special treats. #thanksjilly

Happy 11th Adoption and Homecoming Day, girls!

It was and will continue to be one of the best days of our lives.
We love you both more than words can ever say!
