The herb garden: Learning about how the visually impaired must learn to use their other senses, like smell, taste and touch.
Our knowledgeable and gracious tour guide, showing the kids the computer room.
Today, the girls and I got to go on an informative tour of the Braille Institute. First of all, I didn’t even know we had one in our area. Secondly, we learned about all the wonderful classes, services, and programs they provide for the visually impaired. The institute is a non profit organization and relies solely on the support of donors. All the classes and services are offered free of charge.
We even saw a letter signed by Helen Keller herself in the 1940’s.
All in all, it was a fantastic way to spend the morning, learning something new with our friends.
Thank you, Lord for these opportunities!
