When August-like temperatures engulf the desert in late June, it sends us out west… to the ocean.
It was a dramatic 40 degrees cooler at the beach. So dramatic that I WAS DOWN RIGHT FREEZING when we got there in the morning. The wind was howling and that didn’t help. Thankfully, by noon, the wind died down and the sun did its job beautifully.
Note: Children are never bothered by such trivial details like freezing wind or sand storms!
Anyway, from that point on, the hours quickly ticked away like minutes.
“The Beach: the place where doing absolutely nothing is doing something.”
We enjoyed doing nothing so much, we didn’t crawl back home until after 8pm.
Always a treat to be near the sea!
