March’s Holy Habit: Encouraging Others
I know I’m very late in posting about last month’s holy habit.
In fact, I’m so late, it’s now the end of April! Oh well. LOL
There are many things we learned about spending a whole month focusing on Encouraging Others.
Perhaps the most important thing that stands out is the fact that we need LOTS MORE PRACTICE.
I don’t know about you but encouraging others doesn’t come naturally for me. Yet, ironically, it’s probably one of my strongest love languages.
As believers, we are called to encourage one another in love… daily!
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” ~Hebrews 3:13
So thankful that God gives us plenty of opportunities to practice throughout the day.
In conclusion: The week after Easter, the girls got an AMAZING opportunity to encourage others for the Lord and share their story with our church. They were a little nervous to be interviewed (and quite honestly, I thought our Pastor would be interviewing other people as well). I had NO IDEA that they would be the only ones.
Our girls have always been friendly and never shy when it comes to striking up a conversation or making new friends. The nice thing about homeschooling is that they often have opportunities to make friends with people of all ages. This was just one example of how they often share their love and consequently, share Jesus.
The girls spoke at 3 services with over 3,000 people. OK, so far, in my adult life, I have had various speaking opportunities but never quite that large. I think I would be a little nervous, too!
Oh, but they did so well! Morgan and I were incredibly proud of them. Actually, we were blown away and very humbled. Childlike faith is an incredible gift to us all.
God was so faithful to bless and provide this opportunity.
Truly, to date, one of our greatest highlights as parents. Something I will never forget.
