We hiked the nature trails at the Living Desert.
A leopard tortoise.
A trip to the LD wouldn’t be complete without a carousel ride.
Perhaps it was the cheesy Elton John song playing in the background as the carousel went round and round but I found myself getting a little melancholy as I watched the girls. They no longer want us to stand next to them on the carousel. They kindly ask if we would wait for them behind the gates- where with each turn, we are greeted with happy waves and shining grins.
Our daughters are growing up.
Before we know it, they’ll be six. They continue to develop greatly in character and heart. They’re learning daily to think of Jesus first, while serving others with love.
As parents, Morgan and I love watching them blossom into who God created them to be- each with different gifts, characteristics, and nature. They inspire us and make us strive to be better parents everyday.
We are blessed beyond measure and we give all glory and honor to God- whom we love, serve and honor.
Later in the evening, we thought we might go out but we ended up having a quiet night at home. We cooked a pasta dinner and read some good books. We also took some time for family devotion and prayer. With gratitude, we thanked God for His many provisions and His amazing grace this past year. With hope, we look forward to the future in anticipation of all that is to come.
We also prayed for our friends and loved ones. Some of you have had quite a challenging year. Our hearts go out to you. May the trials we face humble us and refine us. Above all else, may the heartaches of this world, create in us a desire to seek the eternal- starting with a more real and intimate relationship with the living God through Christ, our Savior.
God Bless you in the New Year.
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” ~Luke 11:9-10
