Ring around the rosie...
...we all fall down!
...we all fall down!
Since we were only expected to be in the high 80's today, it was a great morning for the park. The girls had fun on the playground and also learned how to play "Ring around the rosie." Faith and Grace liked it so much that they came home and played with daddy, too. We've been noticing that since their 2nd birthday, they have been on a fast track to learning new things everyday. It's so much fun to wake up each morning to see what they'll say next! I guess at this age, their growth is more apparent because of their speech development. We've been hearing more complete sentences around here lately. Here's what they've been up to...
Faith says...
"I'll kiss it." When someone has an ouwie.
"I'll do it."- When she wants to do something herself... all the time!
"I'll do it."- When she wants to do something herself... all the time!
"Daddy's working."
"Where's daddy?
"Gracie, where are you?"
"It hurts."
Grace says...
"What happened?"
"Where's mommy?"
"Where are we going?"
"I don't know."
"See you."
"I'll miss you."
It's especially sweet to hear them talking with one another and saying things like, "Yes please, thank you, you're welcome and bless you."
The girls continue to be good eaters and sleepers as well.
Some favorites: Apples, strawberries, peaches, mandarin oranges, grapes, turkey, tuna, peanut butter, cheese, crackers, bread, cereal, goldfish crackers, chips, guacamole, chicken, fish, and broccoli.
They are still taking one long nap during the day from about 12:30 to 3:30. We head for the bath no later than 7:00 and they are in bed by 7:30. Other than one time, we have never had to get up in the middle of the night. They both sleep 'til about 7:00 or 7:30 in the morning and wait for me to go into their room at 8:00. We are very blessed in the sleep category!
We also thank God daily for their good health. In over a year, they have only had one or two colds to speak of. That's pretty good considering how often they are around other kids. This time with the girls is priceless. They surprise us everyday with how cute and smart they are becoming. That's not to say that we don't have a few difficult days now and then. There are some days when I feel like it's a battle of wills. They are finding their place in this big world and learning to be more independent, verbal, and understood. All par for the course for a growing 2 year-old. I just thank the Lord for our two beautiful, very different, healthy and happy kids. God is good. All the time. (Now that's 2 complete sentences!)
May is already here and summer is right around the corner. Time is flying by so quickly. Before you know it, the girls will be going to school and I'll be missing them terribly. What will I do with myself? Hmmm....

OK, now I'm rushing it by even thinking about it! I'll just try to enjoy these special years, one day at a time.
